The first "small circle,", walk which goes via Knocknacarry bridge takes about 40 minutes to complete.  Start in the village and take the road which follows the beach.  Looking out to sea (northwards), you can see just past Tornamoney Point and across to the Mull of Kintyre.

To the south of the Mull (on a clear day) you can see Sanda Island which is like an inverted teaspoon and south from this again you can see Ailsa Craig which is like a haystack.  The shortest distance between Scotland and Ireland is between the Mull of Kintyre and Torr Head being only 13.5 miles.
